Franziska Vu was born in 1976 in Berlin. In 1999 she completed her degree in photography and landed her first job as a photographer at Fotografie: Schumann. Franziska Vu has been a freelance photographer since 2003 and she works as an instructor at the Potsdam Technical College. She is a founding member of the Kulanshi Art Club, established in 2005. Her award-winning work has been shown in Germany and abroad.
Vu created ”Detained – Photographs and Eyewitness Accounts from a Stasi Jail“ on behalf of Kulturring in Berlin e.V. The project was nominated for the 2005 Marion Dönhoff Award for international understanding and reconciliation.
